Sorry, what am I missing?
The log from tinyumb clearly said he REQUESTED 3.2.1 shsh's but RECEIVED no response, then requested and RECEIVED 3.2.2 blobs a few minutes later, therefore he CANNOT downgrade...

It really depends exactly when you jailbroke and / or used tinyumbrella. When you request a shsh blob from Apple via either Cydia or tinyumberella, Apple will only return a shsh for a firmware version which it is currently signing. At the moment for the iPad that is 3.2.2.

It sounds to me like you probably requested 3.2 and 3.2.1 shsh's on tinyumberella AFTER Apple stopped signing them. They stopped 3.2.1 around August 11th (cant remember the exact date but it was around then). After that point it does not matter what you request, you will only get shsh's for the current firmware which is 3.2.2 (even if you have 3.2 or 3.2.1 installed).

The other scenario is if you used the "make my life easier" button in Cydia, but had not got to the front of the queue to save the shsh's for 3.2.1 by the time Apple stopped signing. Cydia has hundreds of thousands of iDevices on file and can only request a set number of SHSH's per day from Apple. So, sometimes people have a pending request and the window of opportunity closes because they did not get to the top of the queue yet. However, once Cydia has your details they will automatically request SHSH's for you for each new firmware versions. That is why some people are surprised when they go into Cydia and see shsh's saved for a firmware they did not request...

Do any of these scenarios fit in with what you remember? I would almost guarantee it is because of the date you requested them being outside the Apple signing window...

Hope that helps.

So that's why my iPad, which has never been on 3.2.2, has 3.2.2 SHSH blobs on Cydia. I noticed it the other night and never got around to looking for the reason.
