I just got my ipad 2 but on the box and machine it only says "ipad ". Does this mean I got the regular ipad?

The new iPad does not say iPad2. This is normal Apple practice. If you're worried that you got an iPad1 rather than an iPad2 then they're easy to tell apart. The iPad1 has a slightly curved back, whereas the rear of the iPad2 is flat. And, of course, the iPad2 has small 'cut outs' front and rear for the two camera lenses - since the iPad1 has no camera!

So, if your iPad has a camera, it absolutely has to be an iPad2!!

There are, of course, many differences in the software supplied with the iPad2 too.
