Ello. I've been a lurker, but now I have a question, so I registered. I've just bought an iPad 2 with 32 GB. My od one has 16 GB. I've also gotten a real keyboard because I hate the virtual one. my idea is to use iPad when I travel, even for work, to reduce weight, even if only slightly. It's not as heavy as my travel laptop and I won't need to pile books in my suitcase. I decided not to wait for the iPad 3. I don't really care about a higher resolution screen.

I'm selling old iPad to a friend. I know how to transfer apps and books to the new iPad. But I want to leave a few books and my apps for my friend. Will they all disappear from old iPad once I delete my iTunes ID and we add hers?

Many thanks for help and advice.

You cannot transfer apps in this way. Once you delete your iTunes account the apps you leave will no longer be updated. As soon as your friend synchronises with the new iTunes account they will disappear, since your friend does not own them, you do. And just as it would be illegal to copy a CD and give that copy to your friend, so it's illegal to leave the app on the old iPad, give that to your friend and then place the same app onto your new iPad.

Bottom line is that your friend will need to purchase the books and apps themself.
