Question about camera connection kit

Is it possible to connect a USB stick into the camera connection adapter to download a DVD that is on the USB to the Ipad? If so do you have to format the USB stick? The DVD has already been converted to an mp4 file.

If nobody minds, I'd like to bump this thread to get an answer. If I have a video in VLC format on a USB stick, Can I get it onto the iPad using the CCK?

I think your iPad needs to be jailbroken with iFile, if it's in VLC format and the native player can't play it.
