Hi all, I purchased 3 movies (not rentals). When I synced to my desktop they were not on the iTunes library or my iPad. It seems they just vanished without a trace. I don't want to lose them as they cost me £20.

iTunes saves everything you download to a folder on your hard drive. While in iTunes, go to edit, then preferences, then advanced. There in a box you will see where iTunes places all your files. Go to that folder and hopefully it will be there. If it's not there, you will have to find out from Apple how you can download them again without paying twice. I have not had that happen so I can't help you there. Are you still under the time period for free phone tech support? Did you purchase Apple Care? If yes to either, just give them a call and they should help you. I hope it all works out for you.

1 of the movies is there but the other 2 are still lost. I've sent the bill to apple telling them my situation. Will let you know how it turns out.

Thanks for your help anyway, bud.

Movies are not free for a second download. Only apps and books are.

Contact Apple and explain. They will (usually) be happy to reset the download for you. Then you just go to the Store menu and choose Check for Available Downloads. Heck, try that now. You never know. It may work.

Just to let you know, I received an email back from customer support telling me they reposted the 2 movies to my account to download without having to repay.

I also figured out the desktop I used to sync had not enough memory to store all my songs, movies and apps onto the library.

    Cheers.

A good ending then, except needing more hard drive space anyway. Welcome to the world of digital media. ;)
