Your iPad has to be on iOS 6 and the iBooks app has to be updated to version 3.0 or 3.0.1. For the purchased books feature to be visible.

Now everything seems to work fine. Do not know exactly why! Looks to be important to install from "my purchase list" of apps. (iCloude)?
