I have had this iPad for 12months from new now and not had any problems until to-day. I typed in a search and Google just stopped working.
Also one of the games of Golf started to give problems. My solution was to delete both programs and reinstall but Google does not want to.
Any suggestions please?..I am an oldie.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Is this the Google Search App you are talking about? If it is, what happens when you try to download it?

There are some steps you can take first when anything goes awry on your iPad. If an app misbehaves, the first step is to close it completely and then relaunch it. If this does not fix the problem a restart of your iPad is the next step and if that also fails then a Reset is the next step to take. A Reset, in case you may be worried, will not change anything on your iPad and is akin to rebooting a PC.

Here are the instructions in case you do not know how.

To close an app completely.......From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. If you have updated to IOS7 - just swipe up on the image above the app icon to close it. If on an earlier OS - Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly

Press and hold the power off button, the one at the top right. You will see a slide appear to power off, slide this and the screen will go dark and a Whirly will appear. When the Whirly disappears your iPad is now off. Press the power button again until the Apple logo appears, this will take a few seconds and your iPad will restart. You should restart your iPad occasionally also as it will keep it running well. Now see if it is operating.

Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you may see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start.

In your case, as you have deleted the app and trying to redownload it, I would suggest doing the reset and then see how you go downloading it again. Let us know if this works for you.
