Prevent photo downloads

I do semi professional photography and have 1T of photos on my desktop my ITunes seemingly keeps trying to put on my 32G Ipad. Where / how do I stop this?

Go into settings in iTunes and cut auto sync off. Change it to manual sync. Auto sync will do that every time if u leave it on. I hated that..lmao
