Press-Hold Dock icons shows things that don’t belong to those apps!

Example: if I press-hold on the Scrivener icon, I see little thumbnails of images which haven’t been pasted into any of my Scrivener projects or documents.

Neither do I see any Scrivener dox; perhaps Scrivener doesn’t support it, but I shouldn’t be seeing thing which aren’t even related to the given app whose Icon I’m press-holding.

Any ideas why this can happen?

What the Scrivener app shows when you long press the icon is mostly up to the app. Since I don’t have the app, I can’t tell. One possibility is that you are seeing recent documents or clipboard items. The documentation for the app might help, if you can find it. Possibly on their support site.
