Pocket Gamer writes today that Plants vs Zombies has just had a major update. For iPad owners, the first, and possibly most exciting new feature is the Zen Garden, which plays like a mini spin-off to the main game, and acts as a calm, reflective sanctuary, if you will, where you can nurture the different types of plants that are found in the main game, enjoying a tranquil time away from the endless zombie shuffle-n’-slaughter fest. To help you look after your plants, you can spend the coins that you’ve earned from taking down zombies to buy gardening implements and tools from Crazy Dave’s Twiddydinkies shop. The iPad version also gets four new mini games in the update: Slot Machine Zombiquarium, Portal Combat, and Beghouled Twist, with the latter two modes being spoof, zombified versions of Portal and Bejeweled, respectively, as if you needed me to spell it out for you, which you probably didn't!
The iPhone version of the game also gets an update as well today, including a new gaming mode, Vasebreaker (also available on the iPad version), where you get to smash vases, as you might expect from the name!
