Can anybody tell me if there is a petition to ask Apple to give us the option of returning to ios6 or one central place to suggest changes that might get done if enough people wanted them? or is anybody clever enough to start one only I would like to go back to ois6 or put my name to a number of change suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is to contact Apple via their feedback page and tell them of our issues and concerns. The website is here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

This would require double the resources/work as Apple would then have to maintain two separate revisions to a major operating system (bug fixes, security holes, feature parity, etc.). Trust me, I used to design themes and ROMs for the Android platform. Most people don't think about it but maintaining an entire OS is a huge responsibility and requires a lot of man hours. You're better off asking Apple to implement a theming system whereby the end-user can change UI elements to suit them.

Hi John - not a product developer, but agree w/ Ardchoille, i.e. your best choice to Apple feedback is to tell them what you don't like about iOS 7.x, then future updates may address those issues if enough of us complain - for myself & wife, our upgrades went well and we are pretty much use to the newer 'flat' effect (especially w/ the right wallpaper chosen) - Dave :)
