AppleInsider reports that Danny Boyle has apparently chosen relative newcomer Perla Haney-Jardine (Kill Bill Vol. 2 and Spider-Man 3) to play Steve Jobs’s daughter Lisa in the forthcoming biopic about the late Apple CEO.
With Natalie Portman reported to have decline to take on the part of Lisa, Haney-Jardine looks set to join the likes of Michael Fassbender, Seth Rogan, Kate Winslet, and Jeff Daniels, who are all said to have signed up to appear in the movie.
AppleInsider writes that according to The Hollywood Reporter, the role of Lisa is thought to be one of the most important characters in the film, with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin referring to Lisa as the “heroine.”
British actress Katherine Waterson is already on board to play Lisa’s mother Chrisann Brennan, and while Kate Winslet’s role has not yet been revealed, it is expected to be either Jobs’ wife, Laurene, or former Apple PR chief Katie Cotton.
