PdaNet question

So I just downloaded PdaNet from Cydia, nice free tethering app, but still, my fears of "tether detection" persist. PdaNet DOES have this "Hide tether" thing, but is it reliable?

I'm only worried because my iPhone is on my parents' Verizon plan, and I don't want them getting all pissed at me if they get charged extra or get in trouble for unauthorized tethering.

Of course, I won't really use it very often at all, especially because I'm at college and there's WiFi everywhere, but does anyone know how reliable the "Hide Tether" is? And is "Level II" more secure than "Level I" ?

You might be better seeking advice over at our sister forum iPhoneForums.

I was always a user of iTether and MyWi before tethering got bundled into all my contracts about 2 years ago, so I am a little out of touch. Also, since we don't have CDMA over here in the UK, I'm not sure how different Verizon are in terms of detecting tethering.

Verizon now includes Personal Hotspot in their share everything plans, so you may have it. It's turned on through Settings - General - Network - Set Up Personal Hotspot.

My parents must not have a "Share Everything" plan then, because this is what I get when I click that button: http://i.imgur.com/Koc6oRh.png

I'm pretty sure my mother's cellular plan with Verizon is grandfathered over many years, because she's had Verizon since the late 90s.
