Pages app will not open Pages08 documents

Soooooo, my laptop I stopped using with Pages08 docs on them that I just got done loading to dropbox so I could access and edit on my iPad using the Pages app does not work. What am i supposed to use to open these documents in Pages on the iPad?

I think you need to save them in an earlier version of Pages. A couple of Members have reported problems opening Pages 08 documents on the iPad.

Any other work- around available like a group converter of perhaps all older pages documents to PDFs?

I only have the iPad version of Pages, so not sure of other approaches myself.

Hopefully other Members will help out....
