Looking for an Ipad app that will do a format similar to this and cannot find one:

1./////
A. ///
B. ///

2. ///
A. ///
B. ///

But with indents on the letters

etc, etc

If you are looking for a true outline app, with all the extras like hiding, moving, and whatevering section, I can’t recommend anything. I don’t have one. The apps do exist. I just can’t remember the name of one off the top of my head.

If it’s a matter of formatting a document, Pages and I assume Words will do the Harvard outline format.

For taking notes, Notability has a bullet outline format that works exactly as you asked. Goodnotes will probably do this as well, though I don’t have it to confirm. Plus, you get a lot of extra note taking features and power.

So what app did you use for that 2nd example? That is what I want. Right now I am using Apple Notes but I will switch to that app immediately. I do not care about all the extra features of Notability or any other similar apps.

Notability is what I used for the second example. Keep in mind it’s no good for printing or saving as a document. You can export, but the notes only really live well in the app.

Omni Outliner was one of the high powered outline apps I was trying to remember. Might be worth looking into, if that’s what you were after. Not sure what all the features are, but there are a lot of them.

Other’s might be able to offer better choices if you say what you are using the app for, instead of just the format you want to use for the outline.
