On the way to Safari

When I begin to enter a URL, I get a page of ten or so ICONS. They are useless! maybe 3 BINGS, 2 MSN, Peter Jennings, a SWF GAME That I used several computers ago, etc.s

How can I either get rid of them, or make them useful; i.e., places that I've been to recently?

I want to say its somewhere under the bookmarks menu but I don't have mine in front of me to double check.

Unless you have changed your Favorites under Safari > Settings, this is found in the Favorites folder in Bookmarks. Go to that folder from the Bookmarks icon and choose Edit to delete or change them.

You can add new bookmarks by choosing the Favorites folder when saving them from the web.

You can move bookmarks to the Favorites folder by navigating to them, choosing Edit, and moving them to the folder.

Or, you can change the folder used as Favorites in Safari > Settings > Favorites, if you happen to already have a folder of bookmarks you'd prefer to use.
