Official Apple cover with keyboard dock causing problems...

has anyone used the pair?
The iPad sits tightly in the Apple cover, so pulling it out each time I want to use the keyboard dock is a nightmare? Is there a trick to this?

I took a scalpel to mine and enlarged the slot slightly. That was several months ago and I've had no problems.
