Hi
I'm new on here so I'm not sure how this works, but here is my problem:
I have set up a weekly diary on numbers (like I used to on excel) and it works well as I can see my daily income totals.
The problem is, I cant work out how to total rows, not column, as it defaults to columns and when I tried a formula to include the row cells to add it comes up with an error message.
I'd like this facility so I can see my weekly totals.
Help please?

Thanks. Good to be part of this forum. Looking forward to learning. Looking for an app that scans business cards.

Have a look at Evernote Hello also, while it doesn't scan, all info can be input to link with Evernote
Could be a good suggestion to the developers for scanning ability.

The SUM key is a shortcut for the most common use of SUM, to sum a column. To sum a row you must go through the formula editor.

Select the cell you want the formula in by double tapping, Then tap the = sign to the left of the editor's field to enter formula mode. Now tap the Formula key and select SUM from the list (you may have to search for it).

Now you should see the formula in the editor. The Value variable will be highlighted a dark blue. This means you are ready to select it's values from the table.

If you have chosen a header row for your formula you can select the entire row. This is handy when you don't know how many cells in the row will eventually be added. You'll be able to keep adding on to the row without having to edit the formula.

If your cell is not a header row then you select and drag to choose the cells you want to SUM. This is handy if you want to place the SUM cell anywhere but in the header of the same row.

Now tap the checkmark to the right of the formula entry field to finish the formula. If there were no mistakes made it will be done.
