Notifications Sound

Have lost notification sound for Messages and email?...have tried a hard reset without change,...help needed.,

Sound is ok with videos,music,etc.....

Could it be the age of ipad.....ipad4?....

When I test in setting/Notifications, I am able to get the associated sound!?

The age shouldn’t have any effect. Try going to Sounds in Settings and slide the sound level higher.

Not necessarily.

Take a look at Settings -General - Restrictions - Allow Changes - Volume Limit. Make sure you allow changes there.

If you don’t find out what’s causing your issue, reset all settings (Settings - General - Reset). This will set back all your settings to default, and should bring back your notifications.

Will Reset loose any of my own data?....Restrictions checked Volume ok.

No, you won’t lose data with this reset. Just make sure you select the right one: Reset all Settings, nothing else.

Your settings will change back to default, and you’ll have to go through the Settings app afterwards, to set up everything as you prefer it.
