    Hi,

I just qualified for a free ipad (first gen.) from my work. I received notification today that I can choose either the 16G wi-fi device or a $399 gift card for use in an apple store. I have no other apple devices, and was wondering if I should choose the original ipad, or apply the $399 towards the ipad 2, and which configuration you, the learned ones, would recommend.

I am a salesman, and carry a laptop with me when working, but thought I could use the ipad with my digital photography hobby.

Any suggestions, advice, comments, or questions will be welcome.

    Thanks,

    Ted

Personally I'd go for the iPad 2. You'd have to pay an extra $100 for the 16gb wifi iPad 2 and more obviously for the 32gb, 64gb and the 3g ones.
If you're not going to store music on the iPad I think you could get away with the 16gb or 32gb ones to store photos on.

Take the money, go to the Apple store and let them help you decide on the size that will work best for you. 16gb my be way small for photography uses
