Not Enough Space with 23GB Free...

I have a 64GB 3g iPad. According to my iPad, I have 23.3GB free. I am trying to download a HD season of a show, which judging from previous seasons should be in the 7 GB range. When I go to download it, I get the following error message:

"There is not enough space to download this item. Please delete some photos or videos"

It'll be a few days before I can sync with my PC and delete some things, but any reason why I get this error when I have 3x the room required?

[The Alternative]

Look at the "other" items you may have checked to synch. Do you also have a lot of movies checked? Lots of music? If you downloaded apps or movies recently and have them set to synch new items automatically they may be hogging some of the space you need.
