No sound

My iPad air does not ring when skype is calling, or while playing games. I can hear music though. What is wrong ? I have checked the settings cant see any thing. Can you think of something i should do?

Did you enable Sound in Settings - Notification Center - Skype?

Yes ihave the sound enabled. I get sound for musik or if if watch any tv but no sound while typing or playing games. This has been happening intermittently for a while.

If you set up your side switch to mute in Settings - General:




Then maybe it's muting games sounds and Skype calls. Try toggling it and see what happens.

No it is not set to mute. It is not making any other sounds like when mail comes in or out nothing, only as i said for music and videos. Help, is there some thing wrong with my iPad? I have had it about 3 1/2 month.

Look at your Control Center:




If it looks like this, tap the button (arrow) once to disable Mute.

I have the problem covered in this thread and have done the checks you suggested.
I now have that Control Centre Mute Off but I still have no audio for Skype. The iPad speakers sound the call ring okay, and I can be heard at the other end, but I cannot hear them.

Is there something else?

Take a look at your Control Center:
Is the slider at your sound setting down to zero?

It was.
It ain't.
It works!

So simple. Right in front of my eyes all the time. Best place to hide something from me.
Mind you, I didn't realize that that annoying pop-up was a Control Center.
