They've just changed the name - it's now called Music and the icon has a musical note symbol on it.

They are moving the iOS away from it's roots in the iPod and severing the reliance on iTunes. To rename iPod to Music makes sense.

If they're moving iPad away from iTunes I am very happy - or I will be, when iTunes stops trying to take over, not only the iPad, but my PC. There's no stopping it that I can see and I'm truly fed-up with iTunes. For a company like Apple which is so good at making stuff easy and intelligent, iTunes lets the company down in a big way. It's buggy, counter-intuitive, and a bully. Apple wizards, please do something about it!

They did more than change the name...

I used the iPod to listen to audio books. Now that it is Music, I can't track chapters, location in the file or the like. I am not a happy camper!

Yes, they've broken this feature. Many people are complaining on various forums, but best complain directly to Apple, because they're the ones who can fix it.

I use Audible's app and have given up on iTunes for audiobooks. Of course, that will work only if your books are from Audible.
