No badge on app store

I noticed that maybe for the last month or so I haven't gotten a badge on my app store icon signifying updates. I tend to have a lot of updates because I have a lot of apps LOL and it was nice to see when I needed to update. Now I only see the number of updates when I open the app store app. I checked settings to see if there was an option for badges or not for the app store but there isn't. Anyone else seeing the same?

Edit: having just posted this a badge appeared on my app store icon LOL. Did my Ipad read the post LOLOL????

It's the same here. It only notifies of updates after opening AppStore.

This is the case on iOS 4.3&4.3.1, either it is the way it should work, or perhaps it is a bug introduced with 4.3.

It's always been this way for me. If I open up the App Store or connect my device to iTunes it will show updates. But never by itself.

Thanks. My gen 1 until most recently (haven't gotten around to updating to 4.3 from 4.2.1) always had an update badge. I don't check the app store often anymore since a year's worth of apps covers me pretty well. I only check something if it looks really interesting on App Advice or someone here recommends one. Strange that after a bit the badge showed up--have no idea how long the updates were available though I do check every couple of days since I do seem to get a lot of updates.

No Badge Icon

Same problem here. I'm running iOS 5.01 on iPad and I only get notified of updates being available if I launch the App. Same in iTunes. Anyone know if this is normal or if there is a fix.
