Have had iPhone4 since it came out, iPad "1" 16 gig wifi for several months, love them both. Just got a "piece of crap" iPad2 32 gig 3G that constantly crashes, returns to home screen as you are using it. Locked out of the email configuration part of settings...... Not very happy Mr Jobs.

Have you tried restarting it?
Have you tried reseting it?

iPad: Turning on/off and resetting

If that does not work your next options is to connect it to iTunes and restore it. It's a bit drastic, but as long as you do the purchase transfers and backup you should be able to get back to the setup you had before, eventually.

Connect it to the computer then go to iTunes and right click on the iPad under the Devices list. Choose Transfer Purchases. When that is done, right click again and choose Backup.

Provided all goes will with the first two steps, from the Summary screen choose restore. This will return your iPad to it's brand new state.

When that is done iTunes may prompt you to initialize the device, and that is fine. When it does choose the Restore from Backup option, and chose the backup you just made. If it does not then right click on the iPad again and choose Restore from Backup.

Now go through your syncing options on each tab and set them the way you want. Sync.

At that point you should have a a functioning iPad that closely resembles what you started with. But there will probably be some adjustments and apps and other tweaks to get it back just the way you want.

If none of that works it's time to call Apple Support. Or you can do it after the restart and reset if you are uncomfortable with restoring. It is always possible you've got a lemon. Happens to the best products.
