I'm an 80 year old fairly computer literate housebound great grandma who loves my IPad and uses it many hours of the day. I'm getting messages that my storage is almost full. What shall I delete....programs, pictures, books?

You should be able to move pictures from your iPad onto a computer or laptop so you don't loose any that you want to keep.

Or use cloud storage, like Dropbox, Loom, Google Drive, ... and load your pictures to one of these.
