Help please!
My daughter grabbed the ipad out of the Xmas present pile and registered it on the PC. She has an ipod touch so generaly copes with itunes without problem.
When first registering it did not ask to name device etc and hug on connecting to itunes store. She disconnected. The ipad works fine via wifi.
Now when we connect it will recognise the ipad on the menu on the left, but will not take you to a synch screen. If you double-click it nothing happens. You can right click and 'eject'-it briefly then flashes 'synch' at you but does not in fact synch anything. Running the diagnostics for connectivity and synch reveals no issues.
We have already downloaded a fair few apps so don't want to reset the ipad fro fear of losing these.
Any ideas??

Hi rame

First thing to always try in this situation is what's termed a "soft reset" - turning the iPad off and then on again by holding down the sleep button on the top left of the iPad till the red power off icon comes up on the screen, then once it's powered off turning it back on by holding down the Home button.

Do this then try reconnecting it to iTunes and see if this helps. Also, try to connect to iTunes with your computer connected to the ethernet port of your router rather than by wireless, and make sure that your iTunes account is definitely signed in on that computer.

If these measures don't work, then I'm afraid a "hard reset" - or factory reset - of your iPad might have to be in order, and the setup stage attempted again, so hold off on buying anymore apps for now :(

Let us know how you get on.
