Hi dawn and welcome to the forum. Try this and see if it helps:
Simultaneously hold down the On/Off and Home buttons until the screen blacks out. Keep holding both until the white Apple logo appears and then let both go. Then wait until your wallpaper appears. Restart your iPad. This is something Apple recommend should be done periodically to tidy up cache memory.

Thanks so much for the response. This is good to know but unfortunately it did not fix the issue.

Sorry that one didn't work. This might help; reset/reboot your iPad, something Apple recommends should be done periodically.

Simultaneously hold down the On/Off and Home buttons until the screen blacks out. Keep holding both until the white Apple logo appears and then let both go. Then wait until your wallpaper appears. Restart your iPad.

Failing that, you may need to delete and re-instal those recalcitrant apps.

Thanks ... It is taking me a bit to work out how the forum works.

The rules are a big help, they explain how to use the forum. Browsing the many sub-forums will give you an idea how things are organized. If you have a question or problem, it's always a good idea to search the relevant threads to see if anybody else had the same question or problem, and possibly found a solution. If a search doesn't giv you the answers you need, feel free to ask your questions or present your problems in the appropriate forum.

I am not having a lot of luck searching the threads. For example, I can see that there are lots of activity re Hay Day but if I search Hay Day, I get no returns. I would appreciate any help you are able to provide.

The search function requires that you input a few key words.....just inputting 1 word may not get you the results you want, so try different words or phrasing. The website has 2 search features which are better than those on the app. But for HayDay you're going wrong as it is 1 word not 2 and this can make all the difference with searching for help with certain apps here and even in the App Store. Hope this helps you!
