Hello, all. I'm new to the iPad...avid PCer, but decided to jump on the iPad wagon yesterday. So far I've been able to figure most things out. I had a hiccup or two with setting up my home e-mail, but got that straightened out. Now I've run into a problem I can't get around.

I'm trying to set my Safari homepage to MSN.com. I keep getting a pop-up telling me to go into my Safari options to make the change, but can't find it. If I go to Safari in the iPad options screen, I'm not given an option to set the homepage and when I'm actually in Safari I can't find an options or tools screen.

I know it must be simple for you Mac folks, so throw me a bone.

Thanks.

When you are on the msn site, tap the box with the arrow and you will have the option of putting an icon on the home screen. I use this icon to open safari to the site I want. Otherwise Safari opens to the last site open.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

Cumbersome, but I can do that. I'm a minimalist at heart...the less icons, the better.

Thanks for the reply, Czevski.

You can put all those bookmark icons into a folder - then you can start up Safari on any page you want to!!

Thanks for the welcome, Tim.

Learning the iPad will be just like when I got my Android phone. Like you with the iPad, I learned so many things just by perusing the forum every day. I'm sure I'll find many interesting and useful bits of information here. Thanks for the folder tip.

Hurray for forums LOL.

Good to hear. Yes - it's a different way of doing things and - for sure - the iPad can't do everything or completely replace a laptop - it was never designed to. It's as Steve said - "A third way" - better than a laptop at some things, and not so good at others.

For me, it's replaced about 80% of my laptop work.
