Hello I have just found this site today and can immediately see how much I can learn from the forum.

I have had my ipad for 6 months and returned from holiday yesterday having left my ipad at home for 2 weeks and I cannot get past the screensaver page.when I slide to unlock nothing happens. Similarly when i slide to power off nothing happens. So I can`t turn my ipad off.
There is a box open on the page with a message about icloud Backup but when i touch the "ok" on that nothing happens.
I have charged my ipad so it is fully charged.

    Can anyone help me please?
    thanks for reading this

    Welcome aboard Richard!

Have you tried to hold the power button and home button at the same time for several seconds to see if the iPad restarts and is functional?

Hi Richard and welcome to the Forum!

Sounds like the screen has frozen on you.....as Smalltowngirl Girl said a reset should see you up and going again.

Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you may see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know how you go.
