New member of iPad forums

Hi all. I'm new to the iPad. My wife got it for me as an early Christmas present. I've been an iPhone user (3GS & 4) for a little over 3 years so the move to the iPad has been pretty smooth. I joined this forum to get more info on apps that are better suited for the iPad more than the iPhone. I'm especially interested in the usuals...word processor and spreadsheet. Also interested in what types of accessories people like. I just bought a Zaggfolio keyboard case and so far so good. I read several reviews before buying it so I was aware of the "cons" associated with the device. One "con" that came up in multiple reviews was with the clasp that holds the case shut. It doesn't always fasten as securely as one would like. It's best to look when when closing the clasp to make sure that it's secured as good as possible. It would indeed be nice to not have this extra step, however, I liken it to making sure I don't set the cup of coffee too close to the edge of the table. It's instinctive now.

The "Office stuff" I am getting done with Quick Office Pro - I do not recall the price, guess it were 17 €uro - but it is anyway worth the money, Word- and Excel files of all versions can be manipulated/ completely written. Problems in word files with embedding pictures (I did not yet get this solved).
But you should take a look at it!
PDF can be just viewed, using other free Apps for editing (marking etc.) those.

Remember, search is your friend. You can download the manual for your iPad here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for both iOS 4 and 5.
