Hi,

Biggest disappointment :( was not the iPad, but the inability to view MS Word documents without Pages or other apps capable of viewing/editting -.docx type documents. I have so many of these and colleagues send them as well. Initially, I tried FileApp then fileAppPro. they are reliant in the iOS5 'Reader' and therefore cannot 'load' docx files. So, I guess I'll go to Pages.

Apple TV is in our future so I be looking for posts on this. Ditto for Air Print.

Glad to be a member.

Welcome to the forums, we're glad to have you here!

I have to say, I think your expectations were a little unrealistic if you expected to purchase an Apple product and it could come with the ability to read and edit Microsoft Office documents out of the box without the use of any other app! ;)

Can I suggest you look into 2 things.... 1) Cloud On. It's a cloud based MS Office suite which is currently FREE. It relies on a good internet connection, but is very effective. 2) DocumentsToGo - My personal favourite tool for working with Office files locally on the iPad. It's by no means perfect, but it does the job I need it to. There are other Office compatible apps too... those are just my picks!

Thanks much. I was not aware of CloudOn or DocumentsToGo. Currently evaluating (disclosure: I bought it for $9 I think) FileAppPro. Will check your pick(s) out.
