I am buying a new iPAD this week to replace my iPAD 1st Gen and was trying to decide between the Air or Air 2 models. Is there much difference between both. My guess is either would be a nice upgrade from my older ver. Main uses are general internet surfing; using google maps, I am not a big game player other than Scrabble. The wife will likely watch the odd movie on it.Thanks for any info.

The iPad Air 1 is closer to the 4th generation ipad than it is to the Air 2 in specs (this means that the Air 2 is a huge leap ahead under the hood). I would recommend the Air 2 as it will be more future proof. I would also wait until later this month as there may be a new iPad model unveiled next Monday.

Agreed. It would certainly be prudent to hold off on the iPad purchase until after the special event next Monday. If the rumours are true, we'll see an iPad as powerful as the iPad pro in the smaller 9.7" size.
