New event entered in calendar won't save

I have an iPad 1 and just recently started using the Calendar for more then just birthdays. But when I select to do a certain time frame, i.e. Dr appt, it doesn't save. I go thru and select the day, enter the title, select all-day off so I can highlight the time, then press Done. The event is on the screen for about 10 seconds then is gone. Even when I go into just that day. The last update available was a few months ago, which I did do. Any tips or ideas about what's going on? Thanks

Try turning on all Calendars. Maybe the one you are saving to is turned off.
