need to prevent access to an app folder?

Hi all,
Ive got an Ipad 3 that my kids have access to as well. What im looking for is some way to password protect or lock one of my desktop app folders. With in this i would then be able to drop such as my facebook twitter or dropbox apps so only i had access to them. Ive searched the app store but only find apps that lock such as photos.
Can anyone suggest a way to do this?

Unfortunately, no, there is no way to lock a folder on a stock iPad.

If you are jail broken (or want to jail break), there are a couple of tweaks that will enable you to lock folders and/or specific apps. But, nothing for a stock one. Sorry.
