Éeeyikes! If I were you, I'd take it to your local Apple store and see what they can do. They can give you an estimated cost to have it repaired. Good luck!!

Thanks. Went to an apple store. They quoted me a price of 430 to replace the unit.
I heard that apple used to replace the units free of charge. I guess that policy is out the door

It was never a store policy to automatically replace broken iPads. It was under store discretion. There are several threads that speak about this unspoken policy that has now seemed to be slowly discontinued. A quick Search will get you to these threads if you'd like to read more. Good luck with your iPad.

Yes Apple did have a one time courtesy replacement at one stage and I hear of the odd free replacement story still but I guess they must have been giving away quite a few and I guess it became all too frequent. It was never a policy though and really what other company would ever do this. There are other businesses which do replace the screen at a much cheaper price but be wary as it may void your warranty. Good luck!
