My computer does not recognize my ipad

I Am trying to update My iPad and My computer does not recognize it.

Can somebody help me.

That happened to me when I downloaded iOS5 to my iPhone 4. iTunes 10.5 was installed but my PC runs on XP which may be
the problem. I finally went to the Apple store where they loaded iOS5 for me. That fixed it.

As the previous poster suggested, it might be a problem if you have an old Windows operating system. But I'm guessing, though, that you've been able to sync and backup your iPad previously and that you were able to initialise it originally.

As the previous poster hinted, too, you do need the very latest version of iTunes - version 10.5.

Have the same problem and I originally set the iPad up using iTunes on a Mac PowerBook before I set up a new iPod Touch. Now I have no problem with iTunes recognizing the 'Touch' but when I try to get it to work with iTunes on the Mac PowerBook the old beach ball starts spinning.

Any suggestions?
