Mp3 not supported.

I have unprotected mp3 audio files and Ipad says that this file format is not supported. Why? How do I convert it?

Just import them into iTunes and it will convert copy's that are the right format.

I have a few thousand MP3s on mine....so not that isnt the case.

ditto..I just go into the file menu in iTunes and then add folder to library..the one bad thing is it doesn't do a good job with sub-folders..but otherwise all my mp3's are on my ipad...

I only have a few AAC tunes, most of my 22 gb of music are mp3. They are all in itunes and moved over to my iPad with no issues. Not all 22gb but what I authorized.
