Fore flight 150.00 per year

WingX 200.00 per year

These are apps that pilots use for flight planning, and include charts that are updated every month.

These two apps are the reason I bought a iPad.

Quality?

For me, Amplitube, including an FX bundle for it, around £30.
Plus another £30 or so for the iRig connector and amp cables you need too.

Is it as good as they say? I have been thinking about buying it, but have read mixed reviews?

Lol, to be honest I haven't tried it yet :p. I've got so much on my plate I haven't got around to most ipad2 things yet. But I will.

I can imaging the sound modelling being very good, but how it'll sound plugged directly through my fender valve amp? Jury's out.

I'll report back when tested.

Good thread, Brindley! :)

My most expensive app is the Oxford Dictionary of English, which is £17.99 / $29.99. It is a great app - the equivalent of the full 30-volume version of the OED, which occupies about 4 feet of shelf space and weighs ~100 lbs! However there are many cheaper (and even free) dictionaries available which are perfectly adequate for 99.9% of uses. You only really need that extra 0.1% for a precise definition of a rarely-used or archaic word.

BTW, I'm not sure why anyone would be crazy enough to fork out £499 / $800 for iRa Pro

. Live Cams HD does the same job for $2, lol.
