Listening to music while background working?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and am seeking for some answers. I got my iPad this christmas and I'm still a bit confused. Is it possible to listen music on radio apps and youtube on the iPad while for example creating notes with the same iPad? I myself like to listen to the radio while browsing the web and I find it difficult to believe that it isn't possible on iPad...

I read stuff about jailbreaking. If I understood right jailbreaking my iPad would allow me to do more background working. Would this be the answer to my problem? Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

I know that there's the iPod solution, but it's not what I'm looking for... Please help! Thanks

With iOS version 4.2.1, you can play music in the background while doing something else on your iPad. In fact, I am listening to the radio right now while typing this.

You don't have to have a jailbroken iPad to do it (mine isn't). Oh, but if you use an app like Youtube, it will silence your music until you are done with it.

So, check to see what version of iOS you have. If not 4.2.1, upgrade it and then you'll be good to go. Good luck.
