    iPad does support Java Script and HTML 5.

    The same third party browsers that work with Flash generally work with Java sites as well. Puffin and iSwifter are popular.

    Opera Mini does not do Flash, but will run some Java sites.

    All of these apps run a remote browser session on or through a server, bypassing the limitations of the iPad, but imposing others limitation due to bandwidth and server load.
