    No Java, yet and maybe NEVER on iPad; however there are a few programs that are being developed to convert JAVA to HTML5. Also more and more developers are re-coding to HTML5. I'm not sure what "pop games" are; however if that was a "fat finger" and you mean POGO games I'm sure EA will one day make an HTML5 conversion as JAVA causes their games to just crash (my wife is a POGO addict).

    No Java. Not now. Not ever. Jobs has taken a hard line on any technology that could become an insertion point in to the iPhone/iPad network. Same reason Flash was deprecated.
