ITV has finally launched its catch-up TV app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, which is now sitting pretty at the top of the Free App charts in the UK. We’re certainly doing very well for catch-up TV apps in the UK, with ITV’s player joining the excellent BBC iPlayer iPad app, and Channel 4’s 4oD iPad app. ITV has been promising to deliver this one for quite some time, so it’s great that it's finally here. The app enables you to catch up on a selection of shows from ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 from the past seven days.

It’s not a particularly fancy-looking app to browse around, with few bells and whistles other than Search and Browse functions but the programmes seem to play fine, which is all that counts really, and I like that it has a "Resume" function too so you can pick up where you left off without having to watch the initial adverts again.
Soap addicts will be particularly overjoyed to see the likes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale on there, I imagine, and you can also catch up on the latest episode of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories from Thursday where Susan Boyle gives her first major interview. Sport is also covered with the likes of the very popular Motorsport UK, and there are classic shows from the past too such as Morse and The Sweeney.
