Hello Kwitel, by default Safari is the 'best' browser for the iPad. However, if you search around the forum, members often provide their favorite alternative to Safari. I did a search in the AppStore and it gave me list of some of the more popular web browsers. This is just the first page. Search under 'web browsers'.

I have Chrome both on my desktop computer and on my iPad, but I prefer Firefox. The first things I wanted to add to my iPad Chrome were Adblock and Ghostery, but so far no luck yet. :) If I wasn't looking for these two addons, I would stick with Safari.

I use Icab mobile and it is freaking sweet. I would consider giving it a shot

    Thank you.

Im a desktop-chrome user and love it.
I tried signing in but am not finding my bookmarks anywhere.
Is there a step that I am missing?

Safari, mainly as most apps can link to it, I like the offline reading mode and again some apps have portals from safari to the app itself for saving web page data, like my notes application.

I have Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 (long story with wine) and Safari on my MacBook Pro. I end up using Safari 99% of the time. I have tried many on my iPad, but still end up using Safari 99% of the time.

    comes down to personal preference...

I've been trying it out too. Seems it has a chance to become the winner on my pad in a few days. :D

There is no 'best', it's all subjective.

I've personally tried most and prefer Safari every time. Cant wait to see if Firefox ever gets here though.

Chrome. Much much faster than Safari on Macs as well as iPads.

All a matter of personal preference. I'm a big fan of Atomic Web Browser and rarely use anything else.

I switch between Safari and Chrome. Atomic is good as well.

I've tried Mercury, Dolphin and Opera. They are all better than Safari at some extent. Dolphin is my favourite now. Mercury would be the best if it would start where you stopped instead of the home page after each break... But my vote goes to Dolphin.

Moving on... What I've found out so far...
I have BrowserChooser tweak installed, which allows me to choose the iPad's default browser. For blocking social "crap", I found a browser called Ghostery (at first I thought it would be an add-on for an existing browser, like on Firefox...), and it seems quite privacy-aware. Adblocking is supported in both Icab and Atomic browsers.
Now, to the final quest... is there one browser yet that supports both (adblocking and social-blocking/tracking)?

Please, Please, Please I cannot wait until Firefox figures this out and creates an iPad version. Adblock and many other add-ons would be sweet. Tried Chrome a few weeks ago but it seems buggy with stalling. Maybe try it again today.
