Hi everyone, I'm looking for an app that would allow me to use my phone as a walkie talkie with the following features:

Works through 3G data not Bluetooth

Has push to talk button and the receiver hears the message without having to press play. (even better would be the receiver hears the message without pressing play and does not even have to be in that app)

    Has a friends list.

Is there one like this ?

There is an app called voxer that might suit your needs.

Hey guy thanks for the replies, I am trying them all out, so far voxer is best for use with Mate and tikl best for car use with the wife as it plays even in lock screen.

Btw anyone who is having problems with voxer if you run the latest redsnow with the iBooks fix, it somehow fixed voxer too.

I think you should try Voxer. It is a walkie-talkie app. Yes, there have been many, but this iOS and Android application seems to be the one that's garnering the interest of venture capitalists in Silicon Valley, in no little part because young individuals are eating it up. Check this out: MODERATOR EDIT: Sorry. No external links allowed. Moreover, it is similar to the kind of walkie-talkie capability offered by Nextel, but with a twist: users can go back and listen to any part of the conversation on demand, and other users can easily join a conversation. That is totally amazing, isn't it?
