    Hi, welcome to iPF!

Usage for the Mail app stands for emails and attachments in your Inbox, Sent, Trash, Archive, Draft mailboxes as well as folders/mailboxes you added yourself.
When you tell us that you have no mail in both accounts, did you also mean not only the Inbox, but all the other mailboxes are empty as well?

See if restarting and/or resetting will reduce the used space:
Restart - turn off your device, turn it on again.
Reset: press and hold Home and Power button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release both and let your device start on it's own.

Thanks J. A. ALL my in/out/sent/trash in all accounts having 0 msgs! this is the strange thing. I restarted many times, same 3.5GB in storage making free space only 506MB.

The only way to clear the storage would be to restore the iPad. I know from my own experience that disabling the email accounts or deleting doesn't help.

Tanks Leelai for your inquiry. Actually it didn't. I backed up, restored and still 3.6GB usage with no single msg in ANY box in both email acts.

    Regards,

No, but problem solved now. I deleted both my POP mail account and Gmail account, space got released and recreated them again.
    Thanks.
