iPad1 print center badges

My HP C310a ran out of paper the other day, and the print center still shows the two badges for the notifications, even though I added paper and the items printed. How do I clear the badges on the print center? I have been unable to print from the iPad all day, even though I printed the day the badges showed up. There is nothing in the print center when I open it.

The easiest way is to close the Print Center completely. Double-tap the Home button to open the multi-task bar. Now press and hold any icon in the multi-task bar until they all start to jiggle. Now press the upper left hand corner of the Print Center app to close it. Hopefully that clears the print queue and you'll be good to go.

Thanks, Tim, unfortunately that didn't work the first n times I tried it, either. I could get rid of all other items except that one -- the print center doesn't get the (x).
