iPad won't be recognized in itunes?

I just bought an iPad and it won't show up in my itunes so i can't register it or use it. I have a brand new imac with 10.1 itunes. I have no idea why it wont work. I also tried connecting it to my old macbook and it also won't show up on that itunes. Please help!

It seems that iPad (and several iPhones) have a sync problem with iTunes 10.1. I have same problem after upgrading.

Anybody who can help ?
