My iPad suddenly stopped allowing me to upload photos or videos directly to facebook. The message I get is that there is no facebook account registered to the iPad, however, I have fb loaded on the device and use it regularly. I go to the settings page and it confirms that fb is installed. I have an iPad 3.

Take a look at your settings to see of your ipad privacy is turned on for Facebook to access your photos. Assuming that you have updated to ios6. ...

Not sure why you are having the message that you don't have an account, but maybe the privacy setting may be the issue for why you cannot upload your pics.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

If its not your Settings, try closing the app completely and see if this makes a difference.
From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it, now press the home button to return to your screen. It's also a good idea to close all these apps, as it helps the iPad run smoothly.

I am having the same problem. I think I have IO6. Just yesterday, my iPad stopped posting pictures to Facebook. I get no error message. It sort of seems like it's sending, but it goes to quickly, and the sound does not occur that normally accompanies the posting. Facebook does not appear at the bottom when I do the 4 finger squish. When I checked privacy settings-facebook-there was nothing there. when I checked privacy-photos- facebook also does not appear there. Help!

Let me clarify, it won't upload pictures from camera roll to facebook. I just now installed the FB app for iPad, and that works, but it still won't upload from camera roll. It will email pics from the camera roll.

I prefer to go directly from camera roll, as I don't care for the look and usability of FB app. Suggestions appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

Are you using the App for FB? And not accessing it through Safari? If you are using the app and are in FB app at the time of accessing the multi task bar, it will not show there as you are using it already. When you go into Privacy - Facebook is it turned on here?

If using the app close it completely and have another try.

When an app behaves strangely it is best to close it completely and then relaunch it. Let us know how you go.

Leelai, thank you. No the problem is not the app, as you can see from my edited post above, but going from camera roll on the iPad.

Go to Settings > Facebook. Make sure your account information is set. Be sure to turn off the Calendar and Contacts options if you don't want you Facebook stuff showing up in those apps.

This is what the iPad uses to share to FaceBook in other apps and at the top of the notification bar.

I have the same issue but Facebook is not listed in settings. I definitely have the app on the desktop though.

The FaceBook integration shown here is a part of iOS 6. If you have not updated to iOS 6 (or can't) then you'll have to manage your sign in settings from within the app itself.

Open the app and tap the icon with three parallel lines at the top left (so that you seed the sidebar). Scroll to the very bottom of the sidebar, where you will see either a Log Out or In option.

Note: For those using iOS 6 and who have FaceBook setup in Settings > FaceBook, it won't let you stay logged out. You'll have to delete your account in Settings > FaceBook to do that.

I am having similar problem. Attempts to upload photos to my Facebook page won't go through. Error message then box saying Cant Read Files. saying photos must be JPG, PNG, GIf, BMP or TIFF files. I took photo with IPad. I have uploaded from Camera Roll many, many times..this is recent. I have done a Crop on photos..could that be problem? How can I tell what type of photo it is? Thx

If you have not done so, try these usual fixes.

You can also try signing out then back in to FaceBook in the FaceBooks settings under the Settings icon. Please let us know if this helps, or not.

And sometimes it's just a matter of waiting, if FaceBooks' servers are having problems.

------------------------------
The Usual Fixes
------------------------------

When you have problems with an app it's a good idea to clear it from RAM.

Close/Clear the app:

iOS 6: With the problem app closed, double tap on the Home button to get the multitask bar. Tap and hold on any icon in the bar until they jiggle, then tap the minus sign on the problem app.

iOS 7: Double tap the Home button to get the multitasking display. Swipe up on the problem app's thumbnail image (not the icon).

If that does not work try a restart,

Restart: Hold down the power button until the power off slider appears. Slide it off. When the iPad finishes shutting down, hold down the power button again until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends you restart the iPad at least once a month.

and then a reset if that does not work.

Reset: Hold down the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appears. The iPad will reboot. This usually takes a bit longer than a restart.

Reset All Settings: Another, somewhat more drastic thing you can do is Reset All Settings. You'll find this under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. It won't erase any of your content, apps, or accounts; but you will have to go through most of your other settings and re-tweak them back to your liking. Do not confuse this with Erase All Content and Settings.

More detailed information at: iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
