IPad vers 5.1.1 as canon 5d iii field monitor?

I have a first generation ipad vers 5.1.1 and I want to use it as a filed monitor with my Canon 5D mark iii. I know DSLR controller will work with ios 7 but will it work with the older ipad? Has anyone had experience with this? please advise.

I believe DSLR controller is compatible with iOS 5+ as a minimum. You may want to contact the developer and see what he/she/they have to say on the matter. Or, look up DSLRController in Cydia and see if there's a message saying that it's not compatible.
